Abstract: Lung tumour classification is very essential for the management of patients with lung cancer.
WHO classification of lung tumour (2015) lung adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation (LANED) was mentioned as a histologic subtype but still not added in recent classification. Recent WHO (2021) classification of lung tumour is based on morphology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and molecular methods, recommended routine use of IHC for the diagnosis of lung tumours on small biopsies. Confirmatory diagnosis of lung tumours is essential for patient management because of recent treatment based on targeted therapy. Non-small cell lung cancer showed neuroendocrine differentiation, which has prognostic significance as per few studies and it can be target for targeted therapy. In this context, we present an adenocarcinoma lung with neuroendocrine differentiation and a diagnosis confirmed by IHC.
